Regulated Environment
As a registered Futures Commission Merchant (FCM), GFS can provide the regulatory umbrella for an introducing broker to exclusively operate and provide services to its clients in the spot foreign currency markets. This is advantageous for FOREX Introducing Brokers who have not gone through the process of registration.* Instead, they can concentrate on marketing and business production. The responsibility for overseeing unregistered introducing brokers in terms of compliance issues is left entirely with GFS.
*Recent U.S. legislation will require anyone who solicits public retail customers to trade FOREX, to become registered with the Commodity Futures Trading Commission and become a member of the National Futures Association. We anticipate NFA rules on this requirement to become effective within the next few months.
